Scuba Refresher

I first learned to dive in college around 1980 and went on a few dives.  In the 90s I dove in Fiji and the Grest Barrier reef, accompanied by my daughter, Lynn, who did a “resort dive” with an instructor.  When we got back to California, she got certified and I took the class with her and was recertified.  I hadn’t been diving since then.

So here we are in Maldives 33 years later with clear warm water. My instructor was born in 1993, the year of my last dive.

I did the refresher vs the newbie dive and saw quite a few more fish than snorkeling (or dining at the underwater restaurant).  It’s different than birding. You are closer to fish and they are more plentiful.  One fish reminded me of Terry Adams from NRBQ since it appears to have yellow striped pajamas with Polka dots.

I’m glad I did it, but I’ll stick to birds from now on.
It’s a bit too much work.
