Nemesis Bird: Tickell’s Blue Flycatcher

Most flycatchers can be tough to observe or photograph. They rarely stay still long enough. We first spotted a Tickell’s Blue Flycatcher on safari for a few seconds while waiting for a tiger that never showed.  There are some at Jim’s Jungle Resort that favor the bamboo plants.  We tried a few times but only got brief glimpses, sometimes behind leaves or branches and not enough time to focus a camera.  After three days of trying, one perched for 30 seconds, long enough to get good views and photos.
Here’s a progression of photos.
