Greater Racket-tailed Drongo

We don’t go on and on about LBJs (little brown jobs). There has to be something interesting about a bird—color, behavior, or an unusual appearance. The greater racket-tailed drongo has two long tail feathers that look like rackets. It’s a challenge to see or photograph them well, since they often blend in with tree branches or are obscured by leaves. I saw them in 2019 in Thailand and last year in Malaysia, but I wasn’t happy with the photos. I saw them out on a trail two days ago, and they’re also at our hotel, where they pose nicely on low branches. After a few days of experimenting with different camera settings, I’m happy enough to move on to other challenges now.
